The Langham Cultural Society, in partnership with the Circle of Indigenous Nations Society (COINS), is proud to present the Indigenous Traditional Arts Project, a series of free community workshops celebrating Indigenous arts, culture, and knowledge through hands-on learning experiences.

Throughout the series, participants will have the opportunity to learn directly from Indigenous artists, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers who will share traditional artistic practices, cultural teachings, stories, and lived experiences.

These workshops are open to people of all cultures. Whether you are Indigenous or non-Indigenous, the project invites our community to gather together through creativity, curiosity, and intercultural understanding. By learning traditional art forms directly from Indigenous knowledge holders, participants gain a deeper appreciation for the rich cultures, histories, and living traditions of Indigenous Peoples while building meaningful relationships within our community.

This series is appropriate for adults and older teens who are able to respectfully participate in ceremony.

Accessibility note: This series is being held in the Loki room on the 2nd floor of the Langham and is accessible only by stairs. This workshop involves working with small beads, detailed hand movements, and seeing small items. Participants should be comfortable with fine handwork. If you have questions about whether the workshop will be suitable for you, please contact us.
